Orioles vs Jays - July 8, 2008 @RC
I wanted to attend 1 game of the 3 game series and I choose to go to the Tuesday game.
Before heading to the stadium I received a phone call my friend Justin, who was running a special baseball camp and had an extra ticket to the game. I then told Justin, I had a ticket to the game, but then he told me that he also had a Pre-Game Field pass. Here is what the field level pass looked liked. I blured out some of the information on it because it had my name on it and other information.
When we met up he gave me a baseball camp t-shirt outside of Gate 11 and then it was time to get inside the stadium.
I did not go through any behind the scenes stuff. I only had access to stand on the field behind home plate.
I got to chat with many baseball players along with Cito Gaston. The only problem with a pre-game field pass is that you are not allowed to get autographs and get baseballs.
So I had time and I wanted to still keep my ball streak alive, so I went to RF and caught my first baseball on the fly.
I also got Guillermo Quiroz to throw me a baseball in Left Field.
By the end of Batting Practice, Jeremy Guthrie came over and signed my baseball card I had with me and he also signed my t-shirt. We chatted for 10 minutes and I found out that he is a card collector.
I also got Jeremy Guthrie to sign for all of the kids from Justin's baseball camp.
David Eckstein and Joe Inglett finished warming up before the game and I got them to come over to sign.
The Jays won 7-6 and had there first walk off win of the season!!

That's so cool to receive a pre-game guest pass and meet the Baltimore Orioles up close and in person. Jeremy Guthrie is a class act on and off the field. It's nice to hear that he spent some time with you talking about baseball and your hobby card collecting. Go Orioles Go!

Have fun at the mid summer classic (homerun derby) tonight in New York and good luck during batting practice! Don't be afraid to get right in the middle of a scrum (down and dirty) for a ball... A few cuts and bruises never hurt anyone. You just might be the proud owner of a historic ball by tomorrow. So what are you waiting for? Go for it!

I am so thankful that Justin got me a field level pass. Yes, Guthrie is a class act on and off the field. I have read some stuff about how he supports many charities. I tried to snag some baseballs at the homerun derby but it was really hard. There were so many people there. At least I can say that I tried and I had fun.

Yes, I went on the field. It was my 3rd or 4th time on the field at the Rogers Centre. I hope your Astros have a good 2nd half!
Everyone--
I will try and have my next blog entry up tomorrow. I just finished replying to all of your emails and I just updated my website. I am not sure when my next baseball game will be. I am going to start going to even more games in the 2nd half of the season tho.
