Braves vs Jays - June 29/08 @RC
Last Satuday I attended the Atlanta Braves vs Toronto Blue Jays game at the Rogers Centre. It was business as usual. Arrive early for batting practice and be ready for a fun filled day of baseball to the max. But this wasn't just another routine game at the ballyard. The Atlanta Braves and "Chipper Jones" were in town!
The Blue Jays finished their portion of batting practice and then the Braves took the field. All eyes were on number "10" and the Chipper Jones show was about to begin. Chipper put on a hitting clinic for the fans. He sprayed balls to all fields and ripped a few into the upper deck at the Rogers Centre. This guy is my idol!!
I got JoJo Reyes to throw me my first baseball of the day and then aksed Eddie Perez for a baseball in LF and he tossed me my 2nd ball of the day. That was it for baseballs.
Once batting practice was over, The Braves left the field except for Chipper Jones who stayed to sign autographs for his loyal fans. He didn't just sign a few autographs. Chipper Signed continuously for 30 minutes... If you do the math? One signed autograph takes 10 seconds and 6 can be done in a minute. So Chipper sent home (180) ecstatic Braves fans, including me. I have never seen a MLB player sign so many autographs during BP. Chipper is amazing!
Chipper walked towards the dugout and placed his glove on the bench. He noticed me standing behind the dugout and tossed me one of his batting gloves. Check this photo of it. Here are 4 views of it.

I would like to thank Chipper Jones for signing my baseball and giving me his batting glove. I will cherish this forever in my personal collection.
Here are some more photo's that I took:
Fans going nuts trying to get Chipper Jone's autograph.
1) 2 Baseballs ( 2 Training Baseballs)
2) Chipper Jones game used batting glove
3) 1 Signed baseball (Chipper Jones)
4) 1st time this season getting "Official Training Baseballs"

Hey Chris:
That's awesome getting to meet Chipper Jones and receiving one of his batting gloves! I sure hope he finishes the season hitting .400 and wins the batting title for the National league. Chipper is an old school player and obviously loves his fans! Go Braves!

I love Chipper. The young pups throughout MLB could learn a thing or two from him both on and off the field.
Sweet, sweet swing he's got.
Almost as sweet as Josh Hamilton's.
You know I had to throw that in there :)
Alright Chris, have a good day!

Wow, that's AWESOME. It's always nice to see the guys who really appreciate the fans.
Jo-Jo Reyes is also quite a nice guy. Got his autograph last year, but my favorite Brave is Chuck James. When he was signing a little kid's hat, the kid said, "Thank you, Mr. James" in a really cute voice, and Chuck pointed at him and smiled and was like, "No, thank you, little buddy." It was too cute.
BATTING GLOVE! That's so cool. Just don't ever get Russell Martin's glove--he spits on them before every pitch. Disgust.

The Chipper craziness reminds me of an old Braves commercial when Glavine and Maddux are trying to get as popular as McGwire. The Chipper thing really enforces "chicks dig the long ball"!
Hers is the commercial:

I will be at the home run derby but I don't know if I will get anything since I am sitting in foul territory!

Pinetarman1--
Yes, Chipper is an old school player. I also hope he finishes the season with a hitting .400 batting average. Chipper is the one the best players for signing. Sure! I will post a photo of the Chipper Jones autograph baseball on my website.
Ryan--
I love Hamilton and I think that he is having a great season. He is a good hitter and can hit the ball far. Go Rangers!!!
Kylie--
Jo-Jo Reyes is one of the niciest players for throwing baseballs to fans on the Braves. It is really cool that you got his autograph. I would love to get a pair of Martin's batting gloves to add to my collection. I love a pair that looks really used.
Ellie--
Do not ever saying NO. There is always the chance that a foul ball will come your way. Just show up early for Batting Practice and you should be able to snag some. Get there Early! Good Luck!!
